KoalaBowl is operated by Simply Flow AI LLC, a California limited liability company. This policy explains what the app collects, why, and what control you have over it.

Health data

What we read from Apple Health

With your explicit permission, and only on the Pro plan's health tracker, KoalaBowl reads heart rate, activity, sleep, and recovery metrics. These are used to tailor your plans and recommendations inside the app.

What we never do

• Write any data back to Apple Health
• Use health data for advertising, marketing, or audience targeting
• Sell health data, or share it with data brokers
• Share health data with third parties for their own purposes
• Use health data for any purpose beyond the in-app features you enabled

Your control

Health access is opt-in and granted per data type through Apple's own permission screen. You can revoke any or all of it at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → KoalaBowl. Revoking access stops further reads immediately; to delete health-derived data already stored in your account, contact us and we will remove it.

Dietary and symptom information

KoalaBowl lets you record dietary preferences, allergies, restrictions, meals, and symptoms. This is health-adjacent information you enter yourself, and it is treated with the same protections as Apple Health data described above: used only to provide the features you're using, never sold, never used for advertising.

Symptom tracking surfaces correlations between what you logged and how you felt. It does not diagnose conditions and is not medical advice.

Other information we collect

• Account details — your name and email address, used to sign you in and support you.
• Content you create — products and menus you scan or capture, recipes you write, meals and reactions you log.
• Technical data — IP address, device and OS version, and diagnostic logs, used to keep the service running and secure.
• Location — only when you use features that need it, such as finding nearby stores. Used at the time of the request; we do not track your location in the background.
• Purchase records — subscription status and transaction identifiers from Apple. We never see or store your payment card details.

Content you publish

Recipes you choose to publish are visible to other KoalaBowl users, along with your display name. Everything else — your profile, dietary terms, meals, symptoms, and private captures — is visible only to you unless you explicitly share it with a Circle.

Published recipes can be reported by other users and reviewed by us. See our Terms of Service for what is not allowed.

How we use information

• To provide, maintain, and improve the app
• To analyze products and menus against the dietary needs you configured
• To respond to support requests and notify you about service changes
• To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents
• To meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.

Service providers

We rely on third-party infrastructure to operate the app — hosting and database, authentication, push notification delivery, and AI providers that analyze ingredient and product text you submit. These providers process data on our behalf, under contract, only as needed to deliver the service. They are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.

Retention

We keep your information while your account is active. When you delete your account we remove your personal data, except where a longer period is required for legal, tax, or dispute-resolution purposes. You can request deletion at any time using the contact address below.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. California residents have rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know what we collect and to request deletion. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under California law, and we will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.

Security

We use industry-standard protections including encryption in transit, access controls, and least-privilege credentials for third-party integrations. No system is perfectly secure, but if a breach affects your information we will notify you as required by law.

Children

KoalaBowl is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes and contact

We may update this policy. Material changes will be reflected in the date above and, where appropriate, notified in the app. Questions go to support@koalabowl.com.
